Born in Q3-1911 [Cambridge 3b:798], the son of Albert Charles and Florence DELLAR (née McCARLEY) of 131 Thoday Street, Cambridge. His father was first married to Martha Jane PEARCE and had sons Henry William, Edward Charles and Ernest Mumford and daughter Emily Frances. Martha died in 1902 and Albert married Arthur's mother, Florence McCarley on 1903.

Married in Newmarket in Q4-1938 to Edith Gladys Esther WILLIAMS. They lived at 2 Bath Villas, Mill Hill, Newmarket. They had one child

Apparently, in the 1939 register,at 2 Bath Villas, Mill Hill, Newmarket were his widower father Albert C DELLAR [27-1-1867] a painter's foreman; his brothers Albert E [1-2-1907] painter's foreman, Louis F [22-10-1912] and Sidney R [6-11-1915](born Newmarket) both painters. His wife has not been identified in the register. His mother is believed to have died in 1931 in Melbourn nr. Royston.










A regular soldier for 9 years, Arthur died of his wounds in Eastbourne after being wounded on his way back from Dunkirk
